How to replace your missing teeth (fixed/glued in your mouth)?
What is a fixed prosthesis?
A fixed prosthesis is a permanent dental solution that stays in your mouth—unlike dentures you take out. It replaces one or more missing teeth by attaching crowns or artificial teeth to your own teeth or to implants placed in your jaw. The goal is to restore your smile, chewing, and confidence.
Types you might choose
Crown: If one tooth is damaged or treated with a root canal, a crown covers and protects it while restoring its look and function.
Fixed bridge: If you’re missing one or a few teeth in a row, a bridge fills the gap by anchoring artificial teeth to the neighboring teeth or implants. (The crucial part for this option is that, you have healthy supporting neighboring teeth)
Implant-supported crown: For a single missing tooth, we place a titanium implant in your jaw and attach a lifelike crown on top.
Implant-supported bridge: When several adjacent teeth are missing, implants can support a bridge without altering your healthy teeth. (The crucial part for this option is that, you DO NOT have healthy supporting neighboring teeth)
Full-arch fixed prosthesis (All-on-4/All-on-6, hybrid denture): If you’ve lost most or all teeth on an arch, we can attach a full set of teeth securely to multiple implants.
Why choose a fixed prosthesis?
Feels and functions more like natural teeth.
No slipping or daily removal—eat and speak confidently.
Helps preserve jawbone and prevents neighboring teeth from drifting (especially with implants).
Long-lasting with proper care.
Are you a good candidate?
You may be a good fit if:
You have one or more missing teeth and want a permanent solution.
Your gums are healthy and you keep good oral hygiene.
You have enough jawbone for implants, or you’re open to bone grafting if needed.
If you prefer to avoid altering neighboring teeth, implant options may be best.
What to expect (simple steps)
Consultation and planning: We examine your mouth, take X-rays/CBCT, and discuss the best option for you.
Tooth prep or implant placement: For crowns/bridges we shape the supporting teeth; for implants we place a small titanium post in your jaw.
Healing and temporary teeth: Implants need a few months to integrate; we usually give a temporary restoration for comfort.
Final fitting: We place your permanent crown, bridge, or full-arch prosthesis and adjust the bite for comfort.
Follow-up care: Regular check-ups and cleanings keep your restoration healthy.
How to care for your fixed prosthesis
Brush twice daily and floss carefully—use interdental brushes or floss threaders for bridges and under implant restorations.
Visit us every 3–6 months for professional cleanings and checks.
Avoid very hard or sticky foods that could damage the restoration.
Contact us if you feel looseness, discomfort, or a change in how your bite feels.
Choosing the right option for you
One missing tooth: an implant-supported crown usually gives the best long-term result.
Several adjacent teeth missing: an implant-supported bridge avoids damaging healthy teeth.
Full-arch tooth loss: All-on-4/All-on-6 gives a stable, fixed smile in fewer visits.
If implants aren’t suitable due to cost or bone health, a traditional fixed bridge remains reliable.
Quick example
Missing a back tooth that makes chewing difficult? An implant crown will restore bite strength and look natural.
Missing several front teeth and worried about appearance? An implant-supported bridge can restore your smile and speech.
